Русская матрёшка
Самое удивительное, что до конца XIX века никаких матрёшек в России вообще не было.
Во второй половине столетия Великая реформа Александра II даёт плоды: бурно развивается промышленность, строятся железные дороги. Одновременно растёт уровень национального самосознания, появляется интерес к отечественной истории и культуре, возрождаются народные промыслы. С 60-х годов XIX век аначинает формироваться новая ветвь изящных искусств, получившее название "русский стиль". В советское время он презрительно именовался "псевдорусским" или, даже, "петушиным" стилем - по резным и вышитым петухам - излюбленному мотиву художника и архитектора И.П. Ропета.
Многие знаменитые художники, включая В.М. Васнецова, К.А. Сомова, М.А. Врубеля, В.А. Серова, Ф.А. Малявина, К.А. Коровина, С.В. Малютина, Е.Д. Поленову самым активным образом участвовали в создании русского стиля в искусстве. Их поддерживали известные меценаты, например, Савва Иванович Мамонтов - создатель Абрамцевского художественного кружка, пригласивший этих живописцев в своё подмосковное имение Абрамцево.

What a refreshing breath of fresh air. It is so rare to hear a politician with the courage and integrity to speak frankly about jihad and those who cover, obfuscate and sanction the horrific religious motives. Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas groups like CAIR will viciously attack Rep. Pompeo. Pompeo didn't get it all right, but it is a good first effort.
There is plenty he got wrong, but when have we ever before seen anyone rightfully condemn complicit imams on the floor of the House? That's a first.
We'll teach him the rest. Once Pompeo reads the Quran he will understand that it hasn't been "hijacked."

Неолитическая революция
Понятие «Неолитической революции» было сформулировано в 1936 г. марксистским археологом Гордоном Чайлдом (Patterson 2003: 44) для обозначения:
- перехода от кочевых охоты и собирательства к оседлому образу жизни,
- связанному с производством средств питания.
Термин образован по аналогии с «промышленной революцией», процессом, описанным как революция только в сфере производительных сил (Grünert 1982: 167-169). Однако, как выявилось несколько лет назад, революция производительных сил была связана с настоящей социальной революцией, революционным преобразованием общественных отношений.
В Чаёню в Восточной Анатолии (илл.1) можно ясно проследить различные стадии неолитической революции в последовательной смене слоев поселений. Хотя ни одна из основополагающих инноваций (домостроительство, сельское хозяйство, скотоводство) не возникла в самом Чаёню, временная последовательность прихода новой техники в поселение точно соответствуют той последовательности, в какой она появлялась (пусть и в других местах):
- cамые нижние слои (8800 – 8500 гг. до н.э.) свидетельствуют о наличии устойчивого оседлого образа жизни на базе охоты и собирательства (Özdogan 1999a: 42-44),
- в более верхнем слое (около 8000 г. до н.э.) обнаруживаются первые (импортированные) семена (Özdogan 1994: 40/1),
- еще выше засвидетельствовано наличие первой отары овец ок. 7300 г. до н.э. (Cambel and Braidwood 1983: 164).
С наличием оседлости, сельского хозяйства и скотоводства мы имеем вместе все 3 основополагающие инновации первой стадии неолитической революции производительных сил. (2).

Сколько людей жило на свете?
Точного ответа на этот вопрос получить невозможно - слишком много неизвестного.
У науки до сих пор нет единого мнения даже о том, когда появился Homo sapiens. И всё же любопытно узнать — пусть приблизительно, сколько же нас было.
Около 40 лет назад подсчёт провёл американский демограф Карл Хауб. Он исходил из того, что современный человек появился на Земле около 50 тысяч лет назад, включив в это понятие и так называемого "архаичного Homo sapiens". А потом этот отрезок времени демограф скомбинировал с грубыми прикидками насчёт уровня рождаемости в тот или иной период.
Результат — до 1975 года на земле жило 103 миллиардов людей.
Спустя 36 лет немецкий географический журнал уточнил его вычисления: 108 миллиардов.
В 2011 нас стало 7 миллиардов (в 1999 году было 6 миллиардов).
Т.е. сегодня живы 6.4% всех людей существовавших на нашей планете.
