As opposed to today’s grinches who every year predictably do everything they can to obliterate Christmas, and who work diligently to eradicate even vestigal remnants of the blessed event, most 18th Century Americans loved Christmas, especially in the Southern part of the new United States, and celebrated it with great joy.
