Obama's epic fail: CIA wanted Boston jihadi bomber placed on terror watchlist

This cluster is looking more and more like Benghazi.
And to think that Obama put the FBI in charge of the Benghazi investigation -- now we know why. See no jihad, hear no jihad, speak no jihad. The latest bombshell is stunning. After the Russians went to the FBI with concerns over Tamerlan Tsarnaev's jihad activity and were summarily ignored, the Russians went to the CIA, who wanted to put the Boston bomber on the terror watch list. But it was not to be, not in O-merica.

But the Obama culture of incompetence and sharia sensitivity goes far beyond the FBI.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano keeps changing her story. DHS never heard about until they had. Napolitano said at Tuesday's hearing on immigration reform that her agency knew of alleged Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s trip to Russia last year, even though his name was misspelled on a travel document. This was news to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who told the secretary that it contradicted what he’d been told by the FBI.

He even stated yesterday on “Fox and Friends”: “The reason we didn’t know he went over to Russia is because his name was misspelled.”

“They told me that they had no knowledge of him leaving or coming back so I would like to talk to you more about this case,”
Graham told Napolitano today as she testified on sweeping immigration legislation.

Napolitano said that even though Tsarnaev’s name was misspelled, redundancies in the system allowed his departure to be captured by U.S. authorities in January 2012. But she said that by the time he came back six months later, an FBI alert on him had expired and so his re-entry was not noted.

“The system pinged when he was leaving the United States. By the time he returned all investigations had been closed,”
Napolitano said.

The lying is profound, and mirrors the constantly changing narrative on the Saudi national, who was first grilled in the Boston bombing.
Now this:

CIA Wanted Boston Bombing Suspect Placed on Terror Watchlist (Breitbart)

The CIA directly asked the FBI to place Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the elder of the two suspected Boston Marathon bombers, on its counterterrorism watchlist handled by the National Counterterrorism Center. That request came after the Russian government asked the CIA to keep an eye on Tsarnaev. It also came a year after the FBI closed its initial inquiry into Tsarnaev based on Russian warnings.

The watchlist, known as the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE), is actually a master watchlist that supplies information for a series of smaller watchlists, including the FBI’s central Terrorist Screening Database, and the infamous Transportation Security Administration no-fly list.

Despite the fact that Tsarnaev was added to the list, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano testified yesterday that Tsarnaev was not monitored when he returned from Russia in 2012. The FBI now says that the Russians were fine with the level of scrutiny placed on Tsarnaev by the US government. “They were satisfied,” an unnamed official told the Washington Post. “We had checked on their information.”

No wonder they were satisfied. The Tsarnaevs didn’t attack their marathon.
